Application in Paint and Coating Industry

Presence of Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC)  in paint and coating industries, including decorative and industrial colors, as extensor of titanium dioxide TiO2 to replaced it. By preserving the color quality, including the coatings and optical properties, there is a drop in final  product cost. Precipitated calcium carbonate particles play a key role as a pigment in paints and all products in which used titanium dioxide.

Despite the ground calcium carbonate (GCC)

Despite  the ground calcium carbonate (GCC), which has a very heterogeneous particle shape and size, including a vast range of particle size and irregular shape, precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), in the formulation of a variety of paints, including water base paints (polyvinyl acetate and acrylic) and solvent base as well as powder coatings, it can be used to improve the quality and reduce the cost.

Extender function of PCC

This extender function of PCC is due to the size of the particle and its specific and uniform morphology in the empty spaces between the Titanium dioxide particles and links and interactions and helps TiO2 to better distribute and make the TiO2 pigment act much better. Also, due to the higher whiteness value, the use of this product causes a slight increase in whiteness at the same content, and ultimately reduces the consumption of the titanium, saves the production sample and reduces the final price for the consumer .
